NEW PHD REPRESENTATIVE: CATHRINE TALLERAAS

IMISCOE is happy to announce the new representative of the PhD network. As of September 2017, Cathrine Talleraas has taken over the position of being the IMISCOE PhD representative.

Short bio

Cathrine Talleraas is a Doctoral Researcher on the TRANSWEL project (Transnational Lives in the Welfare State). She studies​​​​ how state institutions engage with people who lead transnational lives, and explores how the welfare state can approach the benefits and challenges of transnational living.

Cathrine holds an MSc in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford, where her thesis focused on the effects and consequences of migration policy, using the readmission agreement between Ethiopia and Norway as a case study. She holds an MA in Human Geography from the University of Oslo, where she wrote about migration policy in Senegal and the role of policies in determining patterns of migration.​
